Lymphedema Monitoring & Treatment
Lymphedema is swelling caused by an excess of lymph fluid and is common after breast surgery. Prior to surgery, Dr. Schwaab sends all of his patients to be evaluated by a Certified Lymphedema Therapist who uses state of the art L-Dex technology to provide a pre-surgical baseline assessment for lymphedema. The same technology is used to monitor for lymphedema in the postoperative period so therapy can be initiated if needed.
Post-Surgical Physical Therapy
Dr. Schwaab’s breast care philosophy includes enabling patients to return back to normal activities. Patients experiencing pain or loss of movement from the surgery or scarring, are referred to physical therapy.
