Stoughton Hospital congratulates Dan Hanson for receiving the 2019 Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) Trustee Award. Hanson has served seven consecutive years on the Stoughton Hospital Governing Board, the maximum possible term. As a dedicated board member, Hanson has served in all of the officer positions, most recently the Hospital Governing Board Chair.
Hanson operates a family owned business, Hanson Electronics, with sites in Oregon, Stoughton and Evansville. Although Hanson is busy with his family’s business, over the past seven years he has devoted many hours to Stoughton Hospital. Maintaining his dedication to the hospital, he has been involved in many other community volunteer activities including membership on the Shillelagh Foundation Board – including the position of President, work with the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Syttende Mai King, Friends of Norwegian Culture Board Member & President and more. Hanson has participated multiple years at Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) Advocacy Day at the Capitol, attended various WHA conferences and participated in trustee education.
Stoughton Hospital President & CEO Dan DeGroot who submitted Hanson’s nomination to WHA for the Trustee Award shared, “what I appreciate most about Dan is his passion and commitment to the Mission of Stoughton Hospital. He has demonstrated a broad understanding of the healthcare needs within the community. Dan was instrumental during our recent Strategic Planning and Master Facility Planning Process. He both supports and holds accountable administration and management for overall hospital performance.” Hanson was presented the 2019 WHA Trustee Award at the hospital’s annual meeting on Monday, November 25th.
